“The cure for anything is salt water … sweat, tears, or the sea” ~Isak Dineson
I have long loved this quote…mostly because of my love for the sea but I am not one to shy away from hard, active work or a good cry either. Crying gets such a bad rap and is often perceived as weak or overly sensitive but crying is the body’s way of releasing energy and has many benefits:
💧triggers empathy and compassion in others – can help connection
💧reduces stress and tension
💧can help to relieve pain
💧is a form of emotional self-care
💧helps to connect with your emotions
💧is a way of self-soothing and coping with difficult emotions
💧can be an intentional way of processing grief, fear, anxiety, etc. instead of letting those emotions pile up in the background
We’ll talk about the benefits of nature therapy and gazing at the sea another day.
